In the first year after a divorce, a woman's standard of living drops an average of 73 percent. One percent of women consider themselves to be experts in finance; 62 percent consider themselves to be below average when it comes to financial knowledge.

The Allstate Readiness Series is a year-long calendar of events sponsored by the Allstate Foundation and held at the Middle Country Library -- focusing on issues such as catastrophe readiness, teen safe driving, and financial empowerment for victims of domestic violence and others.
