Library Readiness Booklet Launched

With funding from the Allstate Foundation, the Catastrophe Readiness Clearinghouse at Middle Country Library has created A Readiness Booklet for Libraries to share resource information and program ideas based on what they have learned about disseminating readiness information to the public.  It is hoped that libraries will use the booklet and program ideas to stimulate library activities, displays and collections to promote awareness and readiness in their communities.  The booklet includes information about free resources, programs for children, adults and local businesses, local agencies, a family readiness checklist, book lists, etc.  The booklet will be introduced to librarians in Nassau and Suffolk through two workshops sponsored by the Nassau Library System and Suffolk Cooperative Library System in December, 2008.
