Teen Driver Safety Awareness Part II
Show Off for Safety Contest

Middle Country Public Library - Selden

Teens can show off their creativity by producing a 3-5 minute commercial that promotes smart driving for teens. A prize will be awarded to the top three winners. 

*Attendance at the Teen Driver Safety Awareness Workshop on
April 29th is necessary to enter this contest.

Protect Teen Drivers: The Allstate Foundation’s Web site provides teen driving resources primarily for adults.. It provides results from The Allstate Foundation’s original research among teens and parents.  It also offers a variety of tips to help parents prepare their teens for driving, from training to after licensure.

Chronic: A Report on State of Teen Driving 2005: The Allstate Foundation’s comprehensive report on teen driving features an in-depth study of teen attitudes complemented by discoveries from adolescent-development experts. Chronic marked the Foundation's launch of its multi-year program addressing teen motor-vehicle crashes.

 Keep the Drive: Keep the Drive is a national teen-to-teen movement created and funded by The Allstate Foundation. The movement was created to give teens the opportunity to take on their No. 1 killer – car crashes – by encouraging smart driving to protect everything that’s important to teens: their keys, cars, friends, futures and freedom.

Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety: Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety (AHAS) is an alliance of consumer, health and safety groups, insurance companies and insurance agents working together to make America's roads safer.

Centers for Disease Control: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the primary federal agency for conducting and supporting public health activities in the United States.

Insurance Institute for Highway Safety: The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) is an independent, nonprofit, scientific and educational organization dedicated to reducing the losses deaths, injuries, and property damage from crashes on the nation's highways.

 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is a government agency dedicated to saving lives, preventing injuries and reducing economic costs due to road traffic crashes, through education, research, safety standards and enforcement activity.

National Organizations for Youth Safety: The National Organizations for Youth Safety (NOYS) is a collaborative network of national organizations and federal agencies that serve youth and focus on youth safety and health. Through this network, NOYS influences more than 11 million young people, ages 5 to 24 and countless adult advisors and supervisors.

 Listing of state DMV Web sites: This site contains a list of the 50 states’ and District of Columbia’s Department of Motor Vehicles’ Web sites, where state-by-state Graduated Driver Licensing information can be found.
