Financial Empowerment Training for
Domestic Violence and Social Services Agencies

This workshop provided an overview of the dynamics of domestic violence and the tactics abusers use to achieve financial control. Participants will gained a greater understanding of what constitutes financial abuse, how it impacts victims of domestic violence and how service providers can assist women in increasing their economic empowerment. Topics included financial safety planning; overcoming financial fears, workplace safety, credit repair, and budgeting. The training will utilized the Economic Empowerment Curriculum, Moving Ahead Through Financial Management, developed by the Allstate Foundation & the National Network to End Domestic Violence.
