This
workshop will train advocates to use the Financial Empowerment
Curriculum for Survivors of Domestic Violence in their work with women,
providing an overview of the dynamics of domestic violence and the
tactics abusers use to achieve financial control. Participants will
gain a greater understanding of what constitutes financial abuse, how
it impacts victims of domestic violence and howservice providers can assist women in increasing their economic empowerment.
Topics
will include financial fundamentals; financial safety planning;
overcoming financial fears, workplace safety, credit repair, budgeting,
and job readiness as well as tips on integrating the curriculum content
into your work with clients.
The
training will utilize the Financial Empowerment Curriculum for
Survivors of Domestic Violence: Moving Ahead Through Financial
Management, developed by the Allstate Foundation & the National
Network to End Domestic Violence.
